“LIZ, WHY ARE YOU HERE?!” Efferet threatened as he yanked my shoulders hard.
“Shouldn’t I be the one asking you, instead?” I yelled, struggling to break loose from
his grip.
He shook his head, and shot back with an intent look at Ace.
“Alright, you shouldn’t be here! Let’s go! I’ll get you out!” He seized my arm, dragging
me along with him once again.
“Wait! Don’t you want to explain yourself?” I cried as I broke hold of his hands from
mine.
“Don’t you understand?! Why must you be stuck with a SCOUNDREL, being his
dupe?” Efferet exclaimed.
I was totally discombobulated. Why were they in abhorrence? Had they met in school
before? Why was I not cognizant about this? Everything was in intricacy!
It didn’t make any sense to me at that instant.
“WHAT? Could you just stop and explain yourself for being so tempestuous?” I
demanded.
He narrowed his eyes when Ace snapped.
“Don’t incriminate me for nothing, YOU, MONGREL! I’ve done nothing wrong this
time round and don’t you dare butt in my business!”
“YEAH? Stop all your poppycock down here, when everyone in the world knows what
the hell you’re up to; with your entire flirtatious plot to deceive her into YOUR pool of
susceptible victims!” Efferet smeared.
“And besides, she’s my business! You’re not going to lay a finger on her, scheming
Scamp!”
I could subdue my anger no more. I flared before Ace could blow.
“Shut up! What is going on down here? Can anyone clarify something? And Efferet…”
I turned to face him.
“I’m not your business! (Sigh) You have some other businesses to commit and I’m
not pertinent to be one of them. I can call my own shots.”
Ace smirked. I directed my vision to him.
“And Ace, even though you’re a nice guy and I really don’t know what the hell is going
on between you and Efferet, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll go with you either.” I said
calmly.
“Look, Liz…” Ace called.
“WHAT! He’s using the nick that I gave you?!” Efferet interrupted with an agitated
tone.
“Efferet, there’s no limitations to whatever anyone wants to address me alright; you
don’t have a say in here!” I rebuked.
“And Ace, I don’t wanna meddle with your business either, there’s nothing to do with
me. I don’t want to know what’s going on between you and him too.” I pointed to
Efferet.
Ace’s expression changed to a heartrending look, and so did him.
I gave him my last stare and dropped off, when dejection dominated me, complying
with sheds of teardrops.
The only safest place I could think of was to return to Alison and get her to send me
home.
I knew that immerging myself in an abdication state will not do any good to anyone,
but that was the only fastest method to get rid of.
Thus, I pleaded Alison and Zena for an early departure, and they probably knew what
had happened.
When I got in the car, Efferet came dashing out onto the road with Ace following
closely behind him.
